The University of Alaska Museum of the North, designed by architect Joan Soranno, is a stunning building. It is filled with interesting lines, shapes and so much light. It was designed to convey a sense of Alaska, evoking glaciers, alpine ridges, and the aurora. In addition to being one of the most stunning buildings in the state (and beyond), it is filled with cultural objects, art, and specimens of all kinds.
